1) MLM Opportunity – Timing.

Timing is everything in an MLM business. You need to make sure that timing is good for the company you are looking for, and timing is good for YOU. Is the company experiencing growth and momentum? Or is it going through a slow time that could slow you down? Is it succeeding in the marketplace, or struggling? There is a growth curve to MLM Opportunities. Where is it along the curve? That will determine a lot of the future potentia of rapid growth.

Timing in the marketplace is everything for you. Look at the market trends (anti aging, technology, skin care advancements, legal product improvements, insurance product advancements, weight loss advancements, etc) and see if the mlm company has products that contain ingredients or technology that are being talked about in the media. This alone speaks volumes of where the company is in the timing curve.

And how old is the company? If it is too young, it could fold, and if it is too old, it could be stale, and living on past Successes, not current. But there are some older MLM Opportunities that stay current with their approach to the marketplace. My suggestion is start looking for an MLM Opportunity that is at least 3 years old.

2) MLM Opportunity – Seriousness of Owners.

This is a Million Dollar Question: How serious are the owners about a LONG TERM business? If you are going to build a business for your future, you need to make sure that the owners are as serious about your future as you are. There are some that are not unfortunately.

They may talk about it, but you need to SEE it. They need to make sure they make decisions based on long term growth, not short term profits. This is a key sign to look for. Talk to people and see if they have made any recent changes to the compensation plan, or the requirements to qualify for your check, or consistent changes in product pricing.

If they have, and it is not the first time, beware. They are thinking short term profits. Owners that are serious, have proven to do what they need to do internallyn, in house first, and only as a last resort take money from the field. And ask around, and even see if you can talk to one of the top earners, or one of the owners themselves.

3) MLM Opportunity – Product Uniqueness.

Does the mlm product you are looking at have a one of a kind reputation? Does it have a unique marketing proposition?

Is it a truly unique product, or honestly, just another “me too” product or product line? Me too products can fade from view in the marketplace quickly in MLM.

Your products MUST be unique, and no other quite like it. Yes, there can be many skin care, weight loss, make up, nutritional products out there, but the product you are considering must have a unique “sizzle” to it that sets it apart. There are many vitamin products, but what does the product have that makes it unique? This is a HUGE test for long term product viability, as well as what the next products will be like.

An MLM opportunity may have products that come across as sleek, sexy, and hot. But if they are not unique, they will have a limited life span in MLM.

4) MLM Opportunity – Idiot Proof Training System.

A good MLM opportunity will have a training system that can be used 24/7 and can train anyone anytime, anywhere. It does not replace the role of the sponsor, but a good training system will train the new distributors quicker, and with more impact.

This is a brutal truth fact: Most sponsors do not train their people. That is just the way it is, and I wish it wasn’t like that, but it is. Ask anyone who has been in MLM for a while. They will say the same thing, if they are honest. That is why that a good training system, including training manuals, cds, online training, and live events and conference call training is a must. That gives the new distributors a “menu” to choose from and to start getting their training immediately.

And it must be step by step. If the MLM opportunity has these things, or working on them, that is a great sign that they are serious about their field’s success.

5) MLM Opportunity – The Better Business Bureau Factor.

Simply, in a good MLM opportunity, there cannot be a lot of complaints with the BBB. It is that simple. Yes, you will always have disgruntled distributors, that is part of the business. But a lot of complaints form all over on shipping, getting their checks, refunds, products, legal challenges, all must be considered when looking at an MLM opporunity.

Every company I know of that has had massive MLM Success, has had some things against it with the BBB. But they all were minor, and not really of the “you should be concerned” type.

Tangible……

These are the products you can TOUCH, SEE, SMELL, and TASTE. They are the ones you can hold in your hand, like make up, vitamins, diet powders, cleaning solutions, part favors, toys, and the list goes on.

And the Tangibles are the biggest portion of the industry, especially the supplement portion,because most people like to market what they can TOUCH and FEEL.

Intangibles

Intangibles are the products and services you CANNOT touch, see, and feel. They are the services like Internet services, Legal Services, Tax services, Life Insurance services, and similar types of products and services. It is a very fast growing part of the MLM industry.

These products you need a little more detail knowledge about them as to show the customer they can provide VALUE to their life. And the understanding of HOW they work will provide some good conversation with your prospects on the benefits of owning your services.

You need to ask yourself some questions about your products.

“What would be my favorite product and why?”

“How would my products benefit people and change their life?”

“What products does the company sell the most of?”

“What is the average price of each product?”

“What has some great testimonials about your products?”

“”How large is the market for your products and services?”

“Why would somebody want your products?”

2) O stands for OPENER.

Power prospecting is about being an “Opener”, not a closer. It is about opening people’s minds, hearts, eyes, and futures to what they can be, not what they are. Power prospecting is focusing the prospect on the power of their own dream, and then show them how to create the Opening in their life with your business. This focus relies on conversation, not just a network marketing presentation.

Opening someone’s mind up to what is truly possible is beyond just power, but now you have tapped into PURPOSE which carries with it a whole different realm of power. Talk to them about what they want in life. Show them the doorway with your network marketing company,and then open the door as you describe what their life will be like working with you. 3) W stands for WHERE They Are.

Start prospecting the person WHERE the prospect is, not where you are. Most people in MLM try to grab the prospects’ hand, and drag them into Network marketing. Not a good choice.

There is something we have taught for a while:

Start in their world, and then lead them to yours.

Where you start is as important as where you finish. Do not put pressure on the prospect. That is not Power Prospecting, but Poor prospecting. And you will lose the prospect just about everytime.

Ask questions and get to understand where they are in life, and what challenges they are facing. Understand them before you ever try to recruit the, Understanding turns the average prospect in to a willing prospect.

4) E stands for ENGAGE RADAR.

You have what we call “Prospecting Radar” and you need to keep it engaged at all times. You need to ask three questions:

“Who is around me right now and do I know them?”

“If I do not, do I want to?”

“Are they alone or with a group of people?”

Then simply go over and if they are with people, then listen, and comment from time to time on what is said. If they are alone, then simply go up and introduce yourself with this Power Prospecting Phrase:

“I don’t know you, and I really would like to introduce myself. My name is Tom, and if you don’t mind me asking, what would your name be?”

5) R stands for REASSURE.

Power prospectors are masters at reassuring people. They reassure prospects that they DO have the talent to succeed in life, they DO have the skills that are neccessary for Success, they DO have the personality that Success demands, and they WILL succeed at life if they work with you, work hard, and learn the Success trainings of your mlm company.

Reassurance is NOT hype. Hype is all over this industry, and it really is a turn off to most. Reassurance is simply introducing the prospect to a new world that they could be living, and explaining to them that you will be helping them and walking with them as they get their Success Journey started.

Let the prospect know you will be there for them, and will not disappear like others have. Assure them sincerely and with integrity.

What are they?

1) Quality of the MLM lead.

Quality of lead is everything. There are some great looking websites out there that look totally rocdking, but we found that the quality of leads when we called them, were less than what you should expect in an MLM lead.

Many of the beautiful sites offered no type of ongoing training, and that was something that really needs to be be a part of any good MLM leads programs. There were some that had online training, as well as cds and training series you could purchase. That was good, but the ongoing live training was the best idea, and we found many MLM leads Companies that did just that.

Training also includes scripts, handling objections, presentation, following up, closing, and other MLM leads topics. There are some HOT MLM leads sites out there that truly delivered on this qulaity of MLM leads training.

3) MLM Leads Support.

The support factor was key. Once the MLM leads were purchased, was there somehow support in case of need? Most had email support, some had live phone support, and some had live instant message support. MLM Downline Training – The 4 Phases to Building a HUGE Network Marketing Team

That is one of the best kept secrets in Network Marketing. It is a business of phases and growth and seasons.

What is a phase?

It is a period of time in your life that you go through and through those times you experience many things, one being growth.

Your MLM organization is no exception. It will go through 4 phases of growth, if you let it.

Most downlines never go through all 4 phases, as they get stuck in one and stay there.

BUT NOT YOU!

You will stick with it and continue building your group till it reaches the phase you want it to be at.

What are the 4 Phases of MLM organizational growth?

1) FRAGILE.

This Phase is the first period of time that you and your fledgling downline will go through, and it can be a rough one.

This period of time is where you are new, and really don’t know the business, your skin is not 2 inches thick, you have no prior experience in MLM, and you are on a major learning curve, and you will make mistakes.

This is where you are actually developing your belief and trust in the industry, and many things can shake your focus and belief.

Family.

Spouses.

Co-workers.

Set Backs.

And the list goes on.

You really are fragile in this business, because you have not developed your “Success Muscles” to help you go on in face of adversity, and your group is as well.

This is where a lot of people quit. They never “get it” that you must grow beyond the Fragile Phase to build a business. They got their feelings hurt constantly by their negative prospects, because they were in the Fragile phase and never grew beyond it.

This second phase is where you have grown beyond the Fragile phase, and now your group is starting to grow more solid and be more consistent in Volume and paychecks. In the Solidifying phase, you start to see some Leaders emerge, and volume becomes solid and steady, as well as paychecks start to get steady and consistent.

When your group moves into this phase, you will know it and sense it as well. Your leaders will start to experience success as well as you and it is consistent, and you will see some leaders start to create their own identity in this business.

And you will sense some beginnings of momentum as well.

You will start to see some growth in your group that you had absolutely nothing to do with, and it will continue.

And you will see some new faces starting to show up in your group that you don’t know who they are, or their names.

3) MATURE.

This phase is where the big money starts showing up. You can make a living in the solidifying phase, a nice one, but this phase is where the big checks start showing up, and show up they do. Not only for you, but also your leaders as well.

This phase is where you start to have “Layered Leadership” and that simply means you have Leaders in layers in your downline in many legs, and they now start to have Leaders showing up in their group as well. And the numbers in your group now number in the thousands, and many are active Leaders.

The Mature Phase also shows that your leaders have taught and duplicated how to build leaders in their group, and the dynamics of your group here become exciting as “Mature Pockets” start showing up and they no longer need you, as they have “splintered” into their own leadership organization.

This phase, $100,000 a year is commonplace.

And Millionaires to be start showing up.

4) ROCK SOLID.

This is the “WEALTH CREATION” Phase. This phase is where Wealth is created and accumulated and Millionaires roll up in this business.

This phase is where no matter what you do, you cannot mess up your business, and it will continue on in the event of your death.

I worked cold market MLM leads for years, and was blessed with great Success. The cold market can be brutal, but also can be fun and easy if you know what to do.

1) Make sure you know who you are looking for.

What kind of person are YOU looking for? You need to make sure that the MLM lead knows that you are looking for a particular type of person, and that you would like to see if they qualify.

People will perceive with an Exit Strategy that there is NO pressure and that you are not trying to do anything except hold a conversation with them.

3) Keep the topic, focus, and conversation about them.

Ask, ask and ask more questions about the MLM lead. They want to see if you are interested in THEM, not just recruiting them. Ask about their family, where they live, the type of work they do, what they like to do in their spare time, what kind of spare time they have, what kind of money they are looking out of a home business, why they are looking at a home business, and what kind of Success are they expecting if they start a home business.

4) Your first priority is to RELAX the prospect, then CONNECT to them.

You MUST Relax the MLM Lead if you are going to be on the phone with them and hold a conversation with them. How do you do that? get them talking about themselves, and you MUST come across as totally relaxed and in control as well.

Then find some things you have in common with the MLM lead, and connect with them on those things. It could be knowing someone in their city or state, same hobby, same type of family, same school attended, same industry you work in,etc. Find something to CONNECT with them, and it will be easier for them to connect to you.

5) Let them know that you only need 1 minute of their time.
